Technical Help: Helios and Cockpit Extraction

Post by Sharpe » Fri Jun 21, 2019 3:11 pm

Sorry wanted to post this under the technical support threads section but I dont think i have permission yet.

I just wanted to find out if anyone in the VFW used any combination of Helios and/or cockpit extraction that might be able to help me get configured?

Many thanks in advance.

I use Yame64 only. The important thing to note is that it’s not supporting 4.34 yet. It still works for extracting instruments if you have BMS 4.33 installed.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the update - shame they have not got it working with the latest patch yet.

I recon I'll be lost without my old helios/yame combo

Hm, I think Micro has a Yame/Helios setup. But I don’t know how he got that to work under 4.34. Maybe he can help you. I guess the developers are working hard on getting everything going again.

Hi Sharpe!

My 4.33 Yame64/Helios setup is working also in 4.34. Of cource you have to build your .key file from scratch and keep the 4.33 installation active cause Yame needs the 4.33 path.
I use one single 24" Touch screen with Ice's preset.

Cheers

Just chiming in here with my two cents worth. I use Yame64 and Helios with BMS 4.34 and just like Micro said, you have to keep 4.33 installed for Yame64 to work properly. I don't use any callbacks from Yame64 so I only needed to point Helios to the 4.34 key file. My Helios profile is very minimal. It only consists of ICP, DED, 2 x MFD's, PFL, and a few custom buttons like to some charts, turn pilot on and off. Of course Yame64 is for extraction and a few gauges. The rest I interact with the cockpit using a touch pad with my left hand.

You asked for technical help but didn't really state what kind of help you needed. There are plenty of guys on here with good knowledge and experience.

Oh and by the way - Welcome aboard!
