FNPU - Low Level Snakeyes - Post Flt Debrief

Post by Derk » Sat Mar 02, 2019 5:25 am

Tonight's pick-up flight was a low level strike run at air defense units (SA-2 and SA-5 launchers), and strategic targets (Wonsan and Kuum-ni airbases and a line of bridges) using the Mk-82 SE low drag bombs. Our package was two separate flights on different routes, but with a coordinated strike time on the air base targets.

Our timing was right on and we succeeded on hitting the majority of the targets. Lots of mountains, trees, and water scenery, but we barely saw it since we were focused on our HUD, RWR Sensor, route steer points, and CCRP Release cues at 300 feet AGL and 450 knots, while SA-4's and AAA was pinging us most of the way!

Not much action to see from my lead seat, but wanted to show off some new 'Blue Camo' skins.
Thanks Boomer and Cham!

great training flight - learned a lot -- especially not using SEs much since I can remember...definitely different parameters stuff to consider if attack profile calls for low-level attack. Good stuff

Great little mission Derk - definitely one that's worthy of flying again and can easily be modified to add different levels of complexity. Grabbed a few pics of my own during the missions. As we got in the pit, our AI-SEAD support was taxiing out in their newly minted Shark aggressor skins...mean looking!

That’s what we were flying so I assume so; albeit, typically worn by Blk 40/30, or something. But I say it’s 2019 so let’s slap those puppies on the 50s 👍👊
