Hattrick IQT Progress
Cadet/IP: Hattrick / Zeus
Check Ride #: IQT-1 / IQT-2
Check Ride Date: 21 Nov 2020
Score: Pass
Debrief: I had the pleasure of kicking off another set of IQT flights today with our newest member; Hattrick. He comes to us with many years of Falcon / BMS experience including time with other VFWs and should zip through IQT in short order. We went up for our first official flight and managed to knockout some tac turns before engaging Tu-16s , MiG-23 and MiG-29s - all with relative ease. Hattrick has already got a good handle on the jet, its systems and has very good SA so I can't wait to get him into our regular flights.
Ready to go Rejoined on the departure Fox-3 times two! MiG-23s looking to take out our tanker... Not today boys!! Delousing -29s during the final engagement...just like we planed! Grabbing some fuel Tucked in for the OHB What a great first flight, really looking forward to the rest of IQT.

Check Ride #: IQT-3
Check Ride Date: 2 Dec 2020
Score: Pass
Debrief: After a brief holiday break, Hattrick and I took to the skies again last night for IQT-3 with Hattrick scoring an impressive 3 kills and outshooting his IP at every turn (not that I was keeping score). Hattrick has got great SA and a solid grasp of our SOPs so expect to see him in Wing flights in an A-A role effective immediately. His comms during the engagements were spot on and his formations and work around the tanker are quite good; looking forward to having another great pilot in the sky with us.
Here he is tucked in right were he needed to be... And when the MiG-21 breaks hard forcing me to overshoot, Hattrick was right where he needed to be to score an easy kill. Grabbing some fuel in the turn was no problem either. Hattrick downs another... And once more to round out the flight. Awesome work Hattrick.

Check Ride Date: 4 Dec 2020
Score: Pass
Debrief: Hattrick and I flew IQT-4 yesterday showing he is equally adept at A-G as he has been with the A-A. We struck the runway, armored columns and completed all runs at the range before returning to Yechon via another TRP approach. Awesome work Hattrick!
Ready to go Both ends of the runway destroyed! What armored column? Weapons on target at the range. Coming up next...night time SAM Suppression.

Debrief: Well, BMS continues to show just how much of a mind it has on its own and Hattrick and I got to see that as we flew IQT-5 last night. As you can imagine, the IQT TE files are pretty stable and scripted...we go many months if not years between updates so when we hit the pit expecting to find marginal weather with ceilings around 7,000' and visibility at 15nm you can imagine our surprise to find ceilings under 2k and only about 6nm visibility! We pressed on hoping it would change but it didn't which made boresighting the Mavs a little tricky yet we did and we did it in a single pass! We then went to the tanker which was flying just at the top layer of haze and clouds which at night means NVGs are basically useless and normal vision is compromised as well...yet we both topped up without issues and headed for SAM country. The SAM operators where especially good at going quiet just before HARM impact causing 3 of the 4 HARMS to miss. Knowing that this left our primary object out of reach we improvised a new mission and found hostile targets in a small pocket of 8-10nm visibility. Hattrick made quick work of the two targets sent to him via mark points and then quickly found two for me. After that we headed home for an uneventful ILS into Kangnung. One more to go!
Getting ready to go... Refueling And that's all I got for pics as the rest of the flight was a scramble to try to stay ahead of BMS curveballs.

Debrief: Congrats to Hattrick for completion of the IQT program last night. He finished strong and is going to be a great asset in our Wing flights with a really good SA and grasp of the jet and our tactics. Hattrick racked up yet another perfect flight placing all weapons on target and executing sound judgement and precision flying. Awesome work Hattrick!
Ramping up for one more IQT flight... GBUs on target! Hattrick lasing my weapon on to the target Refueling (connecting in 14 seconds) Final shack in our lofting attack! Leading the OHB recovery.
Welcome aboard Hattrick!
