Debrief: Please give a hearty welcome to Fodder as our newest member. A former 1st VFW member back in the days when they were on BMS, Fodder comes to us after a brief hiatus and is itching to get back into the Viper. Yesterday we went up for a quick IQT-1 flight to clear the cobwebs and as Fodder said during the flight "it's like riding a bike". HE made quick work of the formations and tac turns and grabbed on to the tanker for a quick gulp of fuel as well before we landed at Kunsan. Looking forward to the rest of IQT and having Fodder in our Wing flights soon.
Ready for departure Tucked in nicely Tac turns looked good Grabbing a quick gulp of fuel Touchdown at Kunsan Nice work Fodder.

Re: Fodder IQT Progress
Thanks Zeus. While being back in the Falcon does feel like riding a bike again, MP definitely still adds that extra realism and tension that you can't get on your own. What I had really smoothed out with a ton of practice this week turned into a fairly bouncy AAR but its great to be back in the pit.
Was also very interesting hearing about the changes in tactics necessitated by the improved 4.34 AI, having experienced some of it by myself in my SP campaign. Having SAMs go silent on me causing missed HARMs as well as the old tactic of being able to bully a Mig by launching early causing them to split-s and snip, then chasing them down and launching at M-pole not a safe tactic anymore are just two more reasons why BMS is the best sim.
Looking forward to getting a first hand view of these in IQT 2 and 3!

Debrief: Fodder breezes through IQT-2 killing 5 bandits and graciously letting his IP score a kill! Despite his absence from BMS for a bit Fodder hasn't lost anything when it comes to BVR work so look for him to join in on Wing flights in an A-A capacity while we finish off the A-G portion of IQT. He's also got a good grasp of the SOPs so if you're looking for a good wingman he's your man. We finished off the flight with a quick splash of fuel (in the turn) and some missile evasion practice finally recovering at Kunsan. Looking forward to the next flight.
Ramping up at Kunsan Fox-3 times two Splash both bombers Launched at 25nm out, both slammers will find their respective MiG-23...nice kills. Grabbing some fuel in the turn. Keep up the good work Fodder!

Re: Fodder IQT Progress
Thanks everyone and Zeus for another great flight. Was neat to see the new BVR tactics the 29s brought to the table.
The 2 ship did a bracket going east west forcing us into 2 separate solo-engagements. I was nose hot while Zeus was pumping from the last bandit and was very relieved to see that splash. They are a much bigger threat than they were in 4.33!

Debrief: Fodder completed the A-A portion of IQT last night with an impressive showing when it comes to WVR fights. He racked up 4 kills using 5 heaters and a gun shot and all the while maintaining control of each and every engagement. He did a great job with quick updates on engagement status, weapons release calls and maintaining SA. Look for him to participate in Wing flights effective immediately. Looking forward to an equally impressive showing in the A-G portion of IQT.
Ready to depart Kunsan on our mini Tour of Duty Splash a MiG-23 Boom! The Mig-21 makes him 2 for 2. Grabbing a quick gulp of fuel before the more HAVCAP duty Fodder take out #3 as I get to watch from above. A fourth and final splash for the flight by Fodder. Keep up the great work!

Debrief: Another great flight in the books with Fodder. We breezed through IQT-4 last night scoring perfect hits on all our targets; from low-level releases to cluster bomb attacks on armored battalions to poor defenseless targets at the range. Fodder did a nice job all the way with good comms and SA. With that under his belt you can start looking for him in both A-A and A-G roles (minus SEAD/DEAD) during Wing flights.
Ready to go - just waiting our turn I don't care what the debrief says...that's 3 hits (actually six if you look at the far end) Shack! Both ends of the column going up in flames. Topping off before hitting the range. Weapons on target! Another flight in the books. Great work Fodder - now for the fun one!

Check Ride #: IQT-5
Check Ride Date: 15 Oct 2020

Debrief: Another perfect flight with Fodder last night breezing through IQT-5. With both of us finishing up our bore sighting of the Mavs before reaching STPT2 we caught the tanker on its run east and both managed to refuel before it could head back west (Fodder tanked in the turn finishing up as it leveled out). We then ran in on the first SA-2 site executing a perfectly timed H/K run resulting in the Fan Song going down within seconds of it lighting up - they never even got a shot off. The second SA-2 went down almost as fast and while I unsuccessfully tried to engage the northern SA-2, Fodder took out the Low Blow with one of his Mavericks. He them passed me two targets to finish up our attacks and headed home for a quick ILS approach into Kangnung. Total flight time 1:25 which I thin is a record for me on this mission. Awesome job Fodder!
Tanking in the turn, at night, in IMC conditions....not bad. BDA confirms nothing but a hole where the Fan song was. Smoldering remains of a Low Blow Parked in Kangnung. One more to go!
