Debrief: Please help me welcome “Bamma” to IQT. Today we completed the flight and objectives for IQT-1. Bamma has indicated limited multi-player activity in BMS, but that didn’t hamper his ability to show solid wingman ability and flight lead support in our flight today. Comms and SOP understanding is strong and his pilot ability is solid which helped with the completion of a successful IQT-1 flight. We ran through all of the standard formation and tac turns, and those looked pretty good. We’ll continue to work on speed control over the next IQT flights to prevent falling back and having to catch up to the lead, but today was a good start and I have no doubt he’ll pick up on those soon. The highlights were his quick connection on the tanker, smooth control of his jet, and his ability to maneuver back into position after turn transitions.
Nice work today Bamma! We’re ready to move to IQT-2 and learn how to ‘chuck a spear’ as a human team.
Lineup at Fukuoka (borrowing the Gamblers aircraft for IQT). We'll be back in the red tails on next flight. Climb to altitude in route formation. Bamma meets the Wing standard for connection time already - Nice! Moving to echelon right for the overhead break at Kunsan. Parked at Kunsan ramp - IQT 1 completed successfully!

Debrief: Debrief: Last night Bamma wrapped up IQT-2 objectives and hopefully learned a lot about BVR he’ll bring to our Wing flights soon. Blade joined us in the flight but stayed clear until needed. Bamma took out the bombers with a TWS shot, then quickly reset as the MiG-23’s were almost upon us. On our run in, one did a bracket, then leaked in low heading towards Bamma until Blade turned him away with a very timely shot. As we pressed in as a two-ship element on the MiG-29’s, they too split so Bamma pressed in solo as I notched. Finally, after multiple engagements from all three of us we splashed them both, only to have Bamma at Kansas and Bingo. Unable to make the tanker we opted for Choongwon, which gave us a nice fat load of fuel to burn on our second Combat departure climb for the flight. After a quick run to demonstrate missile evasion we recovered back at Kunsan.
Last night we made a practice run to solidify some of the BVR tactics which ran real well. Bamma does a really good job sticking with the lead on engagements and getting off solid shots. The rest we can refine in BVR Tactics training soon as we wrap up IQT.
Nice work Bamma! Time to work on Dogfighting now in IQT-3.
EOR Checks at Kunsan, loaded full of slammers! Bamma quickly joins to route formation on the climb out after our Combat Departure. Tac turns to maneuver for the CAP MiG-29 engagement with Bamma's AIM-120 coming off just as an AA-12 is sent his way Parked safely back at Kunsan. Bamma shutting down.

Debrief: Tonight Bamma wrapped up the air-to-air portion of IQT by completing the objectives for IQT-3. Being relatively new to dogfighting in the two team tactic we teach in IQT, we did a practice round in the BMS dogfighting area a few days ago and got him up to speed on Supporting/Engaged fighter roles and comms. Bamma did a great job getting into shot positions and sticking with the MiG’s which are behaving pretty awesome now in 4.35.3. This practice translated well in our flight tonight allowing Bamma to quickly get into shot position in each of the engagements. In the first two engagements we traded roles with good coordination and teamwork, and in the last I had to turn out due to a head-on shot from the MiG, and Bamma took advantage and chased him into a watery splash! Bamma’s TRP looks pretty solid, and he dealt with a hung gear issue very well to ultimately bring the jet in safe. We’ll get maintenance to fix the nose wheel steering and be back at it soon for ground strike operations in the next IQT.
Nice job Bamma!
Close formation departure from Kunsan Tracers dance across the water as Bamma guns a MiG MiG fireball as Bamma pulls off the kill (above and right of the fireball) Into the vertical gave a shot advantage for a quick kill (Bamma in the left side of my HUD) Bamma moving into Quick Flow at the tanker with lead on the boom

Nice work Bamma!
4.35U3 is definitely teaching us a lot of new things and capabilities of the enemy in BMS.
Getting thru IQT with those curve balls thrown at ya is nothing short of impressive!
Keep up the good work!

Debrief: Debrief: Tonight Bamma completed the ground strike objectives for IQT-4. We flew as a four ship with Zeus and Blade joining a long to nicely fill the pattern at KOTAR. Tonight was part two as the first run ended early with Bamma learning respect for the fire power of moving tank columns when you get too close. But lessons learned proved him the victor tonight with hits on two of the tanks from a safe and organized run with CBU’s from high altitude. He also was able to demonstrate his ability to run in low and fast for a runway strike using BLU-107’s. His pattern work and comms at KOTAR was a highlight as he good get handling ability in keeping good spacing in a tight pattern, hits on targets, and hitting the profile marks for the 30 and 20 degree dive bomb runs. We finished up the flight with a flurried run into Yechon using a TRP approach, recovering our four-ship flight in a nice tight group.
Good job Bamma! Now we prep for night flying and overcoming Mav delivery challenges.
Four-ship at the EOR at Yechon loaded heavy for ground pounding. Bamma OFF the runway target as BLU-107's hit on target Smoke columns from the tank column hit by our CBU's Quick refuel from all four after we finally caught the tanker BDU-33 smoke on targets at the KOTAR range
