Cadet/IP: Walkman / Derk
Check Ride #: IQT-5
Check Ride Date: 07 October 2018
Score: Pass

Debrief: This morning Walkman completed IQT-5 with a pretty smooth flight for the three of us, as Schnidrman joined along to back us up on our engagements. Walkman’s comms and SOP operations are smoothing out nicely so he’s ready to start joining us in wing flights. His hard study on weapons systems these past weeks has shown as he got direct long range his with his HARM’s in PB mode and HAD mode. This gave us fast access to the SA-3 launchers with our Mavericks which we made in a single run in. We both got good hits on our first shots, but somehow I hit a fence next to my launcher, and his fell just short on the second shots. Schnidrman helped cleanup left-overs. Overall, the three of us had a nice smooth run and were left with enough fuel for a direct run to Kangnung for the ILS approach. Walkman took the point and led us in nicely for a safe night-time landing.

Nice job! One to go!

As I can remember, for me this was the hardest IQT unit!
Keep it up Walkman, only one more and you've got it! :-)

Cadet/IP: Walkman / Derk
Check Ride #: IQT-6
Check Ride Date: 04 November 2018
Score: Pass

Debrief: This morning Walkman completed his long and hard-earned journey through IQT as we wrapped up IQT-6. The flight objectives to engage with GPS, LGB, and Mark bombs in lofting and pop-up profiles was a steep learning curve, but he took on the challenge and nailed 100% hits on all targets. Walkman is still working on smoothing out his flight profiles and closer formation work as he works with his new HOTAS, but I expect with his dedication and effort it will come in short time. It's been a pleasure flying and teaching BMS to Walkman as he always keeps a good positive attitude even through the frustrating times when things weren't smooth.

Welcome to the 222nd Gambler’s and looking forward to see you in Wing flights.

Derk
