Huge thanks to Falcon1 in last nights BVR flight rescuing Gambler1-2 and 3 (me)!
Our #3 couldn't make it so we were a 3-ship with myself as the single element in the rotating CAP. In my first engagement I launched TWS slammers on a 4-ship Mig29 (2 hits) and after a couple more engagements (2 more hits!) was Kansas.
I climbed to Angels 28 and continued in the CAP just providing eyes to 1 and 2. Here I'm turning hot to observe as #2 engages the final 3 ship.
#1 is 1-0-0 plus and after #2 launches Fox3 is also Kansas. We call for delousing from Falcon1 as #2's slammer is cheapshot and the 3 of us are chased out. Luckily their CAP area is clear and they are able to go gate westward to help with the remaining Mig29s.
The cavalry arrives.
Really happy to see Falcon1 to the rescue.
The westernmost Mig29 is fired on first.
The cleanup commences, 3 more Mig29s for Falcon1 (I believed they had a 100% slammer hit rate) and all pilots RTB safely. I was warned but didn't take it seriously enough the closing speed that Mig29s will get up to if allowed. Being south of #2 and higher than the bandits I felt safe enough to flow south at buster but the tape showed we each were followed by one of the remaining 29s and that mine sped up to 600 before Falcon1 arrived. If reinforcements hadn't been so quick things could've turned out much worse!
