Someone else may be able to explain the details better than me.
Nope, you explained it pretty clearly to me. I just thought it a cool coincidence that we were just talking about it a couple nights ago, and here I see it in an article on an unrelated search.

Was hard to follow his evasion tactics. ..

Seems like he was maintaining speed, and was breaking 6.5Gs back and forth, losing altitude somewhat, and heading generally south east.

The stress and Gs make a big difference when it’s not a sim.

I hardly believe, because actually the F-16 is simulated around the year 2005. ;)

OMG, I’ve never seen this clip before. I do have Falcon3.0 on an ancient laptop in the closet. Amazing what we thought was amazing 25 years ago.

Yeah, it was amazing at this point in time. Can remember that I bought a serial cable for 70$ to connect a friend's computer with mine to be able to fly those 1on1 dogfights. :geek:

Updated the movie above, because I realized it was only the short version. Now you'll know why Gilman Louie crashed after takeoff. :D

Thx AV!

Really great news. I am a big STAR WARS fan (books, RPG, E4-6, Rogue One), but this was the only STAR TREK series that I followed on TV - because of him.

Can remember that time, when we use to have only 3 TV channels.
Watching TV series was a family event! :D

And yes, starship USS Enterprise was one of my favourite one!

Do you also remember the BBC series "The Tripots"?
As a kid, I found it very exciting at the time! :D
