The 440th VFW is now recruiting!

We are currently accepting applications for new pilots and encourage all vpilots to review our recruiting page and submit an application. Initial Qualification Training (IQT) flights have begun and our Instructor pilots are ready to take on pilots of all skill levels. All you need is a passion for BMS, a commitment to learn and the time to fly - come join us!

Zeus,

I received your PM last night concerning my application review and I tried to reply, but the PM is sitting in the outbox (does not show in sent items folder). Are there PM privileges that need to be set by an admin on my account?

Outbox PM's means it just hasn't been read yet. I'll be seeing Zeus in a couple hours and will make sure, but guessing he'll have it by then.

I have reviewed the recruiting page and have been diligently training and studying the BMS manuals and practicing myself nightly. Finally was able to do air refueling which initially felt like an impossible task. I have completed most of the BMS TE but feel I need to finalize 3 more TEs like TF and I want to be more proficient at AAR. I have a great passion for flying ( have my PPL VFR ) but haven't been flying lately (except for BMS). Given the updated status about recruiting I think I am fine with the basics but since the page says complete all the TEs I am not fully done. However I also feel there is at some point more to learn from this community by joining and be part of a team.

High Tech-69,
Reading in your post of "diligently training and studying the BMS manuals and practicing myself nightly." is enough for me to hear that your interest aligns with our mission. Please submit an application and give some details to the questions, and we'll get the ball rolling for you. (Please be patient for a few days for a reply to allow for processing time).

In the meantime, continue study and working on that AAR , and feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions.

There is another public discussion thread of general topics that your free to post into.
