I’m not sure I agree 100% but hope is good.

I really hope so. I've been sitting on the fence with my next build for a while but am getting anxious and want to do something soon.

Okay, I couldn't wait any longer - sort of. I pulled the trigger on most of my new PC components mostly because I wanted to start working on a Win11 rig (current system is 7yrs old and does not have the required hw for Win11). I order a new MB, CPU & cooler, memory and disk with the intent of reusing my existing case, power supply and video card at least until the GPU market recovers - hopefully this summer.

New specs:
- ASUS Prime MB
- Intel Core i9 (5.2GHz)
- 32Gb of DDR5 memory (5600)
- 2x 1TB M.2 Gen 4 SSD (up to 7000 MB/s)

Should be an absolute screamer but will have to stick with the 1080 GPU for now (I refuse to pay $2k for a video card...$500-$800 maybe so the RTX 3060s are getting close). Now if only I could do something about my ISP!

Nice system specs. Even though you're keeping the old 1080, the new processor will increase your frame rate lows where you were CPU limited before, so it'll be a much smoother experience!

Nice Zeus! I'm impressed you were able to find DDR5 RAM, it seems like its been in scarce supply as of late.

My fear is that NVIDIA and AMD have realized how much consumers are willing to pay for GPU's and that the scalper prices may become close to the new MSRP's.

Did you see the 6500xt release, we are truly in caveat emptor times now.
